SSC MTS Notification

SSC MTS Vacancy

Every year, thousands of vacancies are released for MTS and Havaldar posts across government departments. The exact number of vacancies for SSC MTS will be published in the official notification. In recent years, the vacancies have ranged between 8,000 to 12,000 posts, depending on requirements.

Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification: The candidate must have passed Matriculation (10th class) or its equivalent from a recognized board before the closing date of application. Candidates awaiting results are not eligible to apply.
• Age Limit: For MTS Posts: 18 to 25 years. For Havaldar Posts: 18 to 27 years. Age relaxation is provided as per government rules for SC/ST/OBC/PwD/Ex-Servicemen and other eligible categories.
• Nationality: Must be Indian citizen or eligible subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or of Indian origin permanently settled in India.

The application process is entirely online through the official SSC portal.

• General fee: ₹100
• Exempted: Female candidates, SC/ST, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen
• Payment options: Net banking, UPI, debit/credit cards

Selection Process

The SSC MTS recruitment process consists of the following stages:

1. Tier I: Computer-Based Examination (Objective Type) — Conducted online. Includes General Awareness, Reasoning, Numerical Ability, and English.
2. Physical Test (for Havaldar posts only) — Candidates applying for Havaldar roles must pass a Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST).
3. Document Verification — After qualifying all stages, candidates are called for final document verification before appointment.

SSC MTS Salary Structure

In addition to the basic pay, employees are entitled to Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA), and pension benefits under government rules.

SSC MTS employees get promoted based on seniority, departmental exams, and performance. With experience, an MTS employee can move to Clerk, Assistant, or Officer-level positions. The promotion structure ensures steady career progression in government service.
